I voted for Thankful Thursday


Yes it's Thankful Thursday time again. And it is back by popular vote. I toyed with the idea of giving it up due to time restrictions but a lot of you voted (emailed me) and said keep it going so here I am and since it is Thursday, here we go.

I am thankful for the chance to vote in our primary elections. Just think of all the people who don't get to do that. And we had a runoff here and I voted in that as well. Remember if you don't use it you lose it so go out and vote whenever you can. The only sad part is that a lot of people don't vote or they vote based on a name or a color. For instance I heard a lot of people voted for Al Green because the name sounded familiar. I guess they were "Tired of being alone." Wrong Al Green people.

I am thankful for opportunities to make a few extra dollars. They really are all around us if we just look. God has been very good to us in this area. No 100 million dollar lottery but a few dollars in a coffee can.

I am again thankful for the ability to fix things that God gave me. I am amazed at the people who can't repair anything and I can fix almost everything. Notice I said almost.

I am thankful for family. This week our youngest has been away at 4-H camp and we really do miss him. It's funny, those little things he does which upset us just don't matter.

I am thankful that this week is almost over. It has been really hot and I have been doing some outside work. If you want to sweat, just come to SC. Hey that could be a new motto. :)

Well I'm glad you are carrying on with Thankful Thursday because I find it very helpful and encouraging to take part in.

And you've got a good bunch of Thankfuls too! I agree on the 'when they're away you miss'em, and when they're here they drive us nuts' syndrome!!! I wrote something similar myself!!

I've kinda incorporated the Thankful Thursday into the bottom of today's post. Hope you decide to stop by. Voting, I think you're right we need to stop thinking our one vote doesn't make a difference because they all do. Each and every single one.

I did participate this week and I'll eventually pick it back up, so I'm glad you're sticking with it! I just returned from Africa on Monday and I don't think I'll ever get caught up, but at least I'm back! :)

Hey Greg, Long Hear no Time! LOL. I really wish we lived close to each other as I think we would be good buds! I have been voting every chance I have had for several years. I remember when I was young and didn't really care about it. I am thankful for growing up and maturing as I now appreciate so much more that I have thanks to God giving me such a beautiful family. So many people have so little in this world that it is so sad when we stress about how high an electric bill is. HELLO! so many people don't even have electricity where they live.

Okay enough of my rant. Thank you for TT...

The legend of Flat Stanley (A Horror Story)

There are a few things in life that upset me: Spiders, rude people, unruly children and spilling my coffee to name a few. But nothing gets my blood boiling faster than hearing the name Flat Stanley. On the surface, Stanley sounds like something innocent, but I am here to tell you that he is evil and has the power to tear your family apart. Flat Stanley was the brain child Dale Hubert, a third grade teacher from Ontario Canada. Back in 1995, he decided to start this project to inflict pain on unsuspecting parents and students as well. The concept is simple: You take a picture of Flat Stanley and decorate it. Then you cut it out and there you have it….Flat Stanley. Then you send it to other people and they take stupid photos of them with Stanley or you take him on vacation with you in order to ruin your vacation and Dale should be shot or better yet put in a pot of boiling oil and slowly fried and tortured and and and Ha Ha….Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha….Whahahahahahahahaha Sorry this happens every ti
