That deer in the headlight look.

I swore I wasn't going to post anymore deer stories because I think they were jinxing me but I have to tell just one more. I will keep it short. Yesterday on my way to work Bambi decided to take a walk on the wild side and cross the road in front of me. Bad move for a dear you know. Anywhoo she didn't run, jump, trot or even sashay not that a deer can sashay, she just walked. So I came to a stop while she cleared my lane. But she didn't continue walking she just got in the other lane and stood there.

It was a face off...man against beast as she stood there looking at me not 10 feet from me and right beside my car. Not knowing what to do, I rolled the window down and spoke to her; "You know, this is why you guys keep getting hit. You can't just stand in the road." Bambi just stood there looking at me while I spoke and then gave me that "Like whatever" look as she turned and walked slowly away. The nerve of some animals. That took a lot of gall to just stand there. What if I had a gun?

Have a great day,
Greg

I get to see lots of dead deer on my commute - I wish they'd stay out of the road too! But it's pretty rural so I guess they just don't really think the road is that dangerous.

Oh, thank God! There's someone else in this world that talks to animals. At least she didn't snuff at you. I always feel insulted when I've been snuffed at.

You did the right thing, Greg. That deer needed a good talking to, and you were just the one to deliver it!!

My daughter is here visiting from Oregon, and she had deer and bear stories too.

A bear was hit recently by a car, and now he is in someones freezer! Someone should have talked to him.
