You're in good hands with...Well you were

Ok I have tried to maintain a positive attitude here but I do have to vent for just a moment. We received a "Dear Valued Customer" letter yesterday from out insurance company of 24 years. I think we have paid them over 20 thousand dollars and never once put in a claim even though we did have little things go wrong. We fixed them ourselves. Anyway they have decided that we live too close to the coast (10 miles) and we are too much of a risk for the company to handle so they are dropping us. Now I could see it if we were right on the front beach or had been a pain in the butt to them but come one. I guess the 26 million plus salary that the CEO got last year wasn't enough so they are dropping all the risky people. Better get ready people on tornado ally and those in California and what about snow areas etc etc. It is rediculous that they only want to cover people that don't need insurance. Now I didn't mention any names here but you figure out who it is. Ok it finished. I feel better now but will feel even better after I call their CEO.

oh now that is just mean! that really erks me! I would call them and say "who are you?" and when did I recieve my number tattooed on my arm?!
I hate being a number! I drop any company who treats me as such..... no really I do. tuff on me at times but dang... costomer service is important to me.
I really, really- hope you call the CEO. I wonder if you can find the board of directors on the internet (that info is usually public) and call them too. (Clark Howard suggested this on his show one day).

"Sigh"- What will you do? I've never ever had good luck with Allstate...State Farm and Farm Bureau (sp?) have been very good to us- they seem a little more down-to-earth. But, I suppose the local owners have something to do with that?

Insurance companies get you. That's their job. They are a bunch of asses. Please tell me you called the CEO and gave him/her an earful. That would totally make me feel like there is a little more hope in the world.

I am working on getting the CEO's and board of director members names and addresses. See this internet thing is useful, :) We have our car insurance already with State Farm but have a new agent since the old one recently retired. We spoke with him yesterday but all he did was defend the insurance companies and acted like he would be doing us a favor to even drive out to our house. He said that if they found any little thing wrong they wouldn't cover us. Don't worry, We have plan B and C if A falls through. :)

Oh I am also planning on sending the CEO a nice box of candy to say thank you :)

After you contact the company you (and all your neighbors) need to contact your state insurance department. After that you need to contact your state representatives. You need a law that if they want to write policies in your state they have to cover everybody. Good luck!
