Around Town

Pictures from Wadmalaw Island. Martins Point plantation as it stands today. (site of "The Notebook") Bohicket Creek. Shrimp boat at Rockville. If you are coming here from the "Time" article, please feel free to look around. I didn't find out until today that they used a link to my blog. Welcome. Very quickly, My wife and I got married at this plantation. It is right around the corner from where we live now so if you have any questions about it, feel free to email me and ask. In a few days, I will post some more photos of the house. I wrote an interesting story about the plantation as my last post. Check it out by clicking here.

Thanks to my son, Gregory for taking the pictures. He is making a power point presentation for Irving House Winery. You can see it if you come for a wine tasting.

Hi Greg,

What beautiful photos! I'm from Charleston and was wondering if Martin's Point Plantation does any tours? I would love to see that beautiful property firsthand. Thanks!

Sorry to report that Martins Point doensn't offer any tours. It is a private home. You can drive down the plantation road, but the actual house from the Notebook is privatly owned. The winery and tea farm offer tours Thurdays-Saturdays. We live less than 1/4 mile from Martins Pt. and could direct you to some interesting things to see out here on Wadmalaw. You can see some pictures of wadmalaw on my blog page wadmalawgardens.blogspot.com

Hi, I have actually seen the house and it's gorgeous, I also saw online at one point that it was for sale...is it still for sale? I didn't see any for sale signs in front of it, but I wasn't sure...

What is the address to the house? Is there anyone living there or is it available to walk through. I've always wanted to see it!

Hey Casey
I don't know how else to reach you so I will just respond here. The house is at the end of Martins point road on Wadmalaw Island. I don't know an exact address. It is a private residence though and I don't think they give tours.

Hello,

I was wondering if it might be possible to use the Martin's point plantation as a wedding venue even though it is privately owned.

To Casey 37,
I just found the Martins Point Plantation yesterday at the end of Martins Point Road on Wadmalaw Island. I had hoped to take a few photos, but there is a sign saying "private property". I drove a short distance down the driveway and got a side view of the beautiful home used in "The Notebook". The address on the mailbox is 1204 Martins Point Road. The location is breathtaking.

Hi Greg!

I found your blog through the Time article about The Notebook house. You have some beautiful shots of the sight! I just wanted to let you know I cited your blog on my blog because I mentioned The Notebook house. Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos!
Hi there.. do you know if they mind driving down the drive some to take pictures? I don't want to break any laws or anything. After seeing the location it makes sense why I read somewhere else the best way to see it is by water. If you'd like, you can email me a message at daisyforyou at gmail dot com

thanks!
