Weekend Report

No it's not the weather report but it if was, it would be a really good report. It has been mild the past few days and we got a little rain as well. It is sprinkling this morning and around 60 degrees. I can handle that.

We had a great Saturday. Because of the warm weather, we decided to till up the ground a little in preparation for a veggie garden. Once we get the ground ready, we will go ahead and plant green onions, lettuce and strawberries. We are going to try to go all natural this year. I am sure he will be making a post and also including more photo's once he gets up. :) It's 6:30 on Sunday and he is still in bed. Can you believe that?

We got some free fertilizer yesterday as well:

After a fun day of playing in the yard, we headed out to Church and had a wonderful service. I focused on parenting and afterwards we decided we are pretty good in this area. I used to feel bad about loosing my youngest son in Disney World but after hearing how two parents lost a certain "Son" themselves I no longer feel bad. No names mentioned here but the parents names started with J and M and the sons name started with J. I don't like to get involved with name calling. At least it didn't take three days to find our son. :)


Today will be a day of rest for us. It is time to unwind and relax. I went to the store this morning and got a great cup of coffee to start my day. Yesterday morning I went to Starbucks with my son. I had a coupon and so we were able to get away with only paying a small amount. Actually it was more than I paid this morning for this cup. Does anyone else think Starbucks is overpriced? I mean it is good and all but so is this cup and it was a quarter of what they charged yesterday. After I finish my coffee and finish blogging, I will be making country ham and eggs. A special thank you to Lucy and Ethel for providing the eggs. We keep them in a chicken tractor at night. It is something we saw on P Allen Smith. Such a nice report from the weather to the animals. I love preparing for a garden. It's good to go natural, huh? I agree, Starbucks is overrated and overpriced. I treat myself only a couple times a year. Got tickled at the story of losing your son along with a certain other couple. Funny! Have a great day, friend.

OH I love Lucy and Ethel....is there a Ricki or Fred to be found??
Your fertilizer provider is pretty darn cute too!!

We used to go to Starbucks a LOT! Now....we just brew it at home and put a dollop of whipped cream on the top...tastes just as good :)

I lost my daughter in a furniture store one time....one the of the scariest times of my life!!

You're not the only one who loses kids. My youngest daughter was maybe 2 years old and took off on us in Storyland in NH. She only made it around the corner and wasn't missing for long but after that she wore a harness for a period of time. Those things were popular in those days but you can't really get away with it today.
Starbucks....my 12 year old son loves it. He's been nagging me to take him there so I'm going to do it when we go to OldNavy to get clothes since it's right near there.
Ham and Eggs...that's what I made my son for breakfast today too. I'll be happy when we get our chickens and have our own eggs. Yummy.

I miss chickens! I grew up on a farm and we always had chickens. And how lucky are you to be able to till ground and think about planting in January?

I don't live on a farm. Well not what most would consider to be a farm. We do live in the country, about 15 miles outside of Charleston. We have two chickens, and 5 cats. The cows belong to a friend of a friend. They sell organic dairy products. We asked if we could have the fertilizer and they said have at it. We don't have any roosters so there isn't a Ricky or Fred. There are some just down the street though and we can hear them just fine from our house. Where we live there are lots of deer, wild turkeys, bobcats and foxes. Last night when we came home from town, there were deer running in our yard. Yes I am going to vote. I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Oh what a fun post today. I loved all the pictures..especially those adorable cows.
I liked the chickens too, but I really like your new profile shot!! Nice.

Glad you had a great day. Years ago we lost our son at Disneyland for a "few fearful mintues"!!

Great post and glad to hear you are going "natural" on your plot. I'm very excited now that I have been classified as a farmer because I have lots of chickens!

Love Lucy and Ethel, they are quite the couple even though I am petrified of chickens (It stems from my childhood).

I recently lost Gabi at our Zoo. It happens. She decided to go to the bathroom and not tell anybody. I even ran straight in the men's bathroom looking for her. It was a scary couple of minutes and seemed like an eternity!

The legend of Flat Stanley (A Horror Story)

There are a few things in life that upset me: Spiders, rude people, unruly children and spilling my coffee to name a few. But nothing gets my blood boiling faster than hearing the name Flat Stanley. On the surface, Stanley sounds like something innocent, but I am here to tell you that he is evil and has the power to tear your family apart. Flat Stanley was the brain child Dale Hubert, a third grade teacher from Ontario Canada. Back in 1995, he decided to start this project to inflict pain on unsuspecting parents and students as well. The concept is simple: You take a picture of Flat Stanley and decorate it. Then you cut it out and there you have it….Flat Stanley. Then you send it to other people and they take stupid photos of them with Stanley or you take him on vacation with you in order to ruin your vacation and Dale should be shot or better yet put in a pot of boiling oil and slowly fried and tortured and and and Ha Ha….Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha….Whahahahahahahahaha Sorry this happens every ti...
