And the answer is.....My computer is toast. :( I gave it my best shot and was unable to get rid of this nasty virus. After about 10 hours of work, I finally gave up and decided to consult a professional. I called my computer manufacturer and they said they knew what it was and could fix it but I would have to pay for their maintenance plan since my warranty had run out. I agreed thinking that it would be cheaper than buying a new computer. So I paid for the service and then called a technician who was going to help me out. After 3 hours on the phone, he gave up and said he couldn't fix it either. He said my only option was to reload my computer using the reboot disc and guess what? I can't find it.
Plan B: I am going to have a person at work try to fix it. If he gets it fixed I will keep the maintenance plan but if he doesn't get it fixed, I will have to buy a new computer and I won't be buying the same brand so I won't need the maintenance plan. If that happens, I plan on calling the computer company and talking with whoever I need to in order to get my money refunded. I can be a real nag when I want to as my wife will tell you.
Lessons learned: Make sure your anti-virus program is up to date and running. Mine was working but these virus' are getting tricky and working their way in. I believe this one came in on a pop-up. Lately they pop-up almost every time you go to a website and if you "allow" them, you may be letting a virus get in. If a site won't let you in without allowing a pop-up, I wouldn't go there. They are also using instant messaging and Email attachments. I use AVG for my virus protection and there was a new version out that I didn't know about. I loaded the new (paid) version onto my laptop yesterday and it began blocking all kinds of things. I highly recommend the paid version of AVG 8.0.
Well that is all for today. I am not going to let this one little thing ruin my day. I will just keep singing to myself and hoping this person gets what they deserve.
Have a great day,
Greg

Sorry this has been giving you so much trouble, I'm glad that you still have a sunny outlook :o)
Thankfully, I have a great technician on hand, husband, who always can fix anything ailing my computer...except for the broken screen on my other laptop...I dropped and cracked it and it kept growing bigger and bigger every day.
I finally hooked that one up to my desktop monitor so I can still use it here and there.
I got lucky and happen to live with a Computer system specialist.
Plus, he is the one that build our computers so he is always updated computers with anti virsus software. That doesn't help you at all but I thought I'd share anywho.
