Two days off

I'm off work for two whole days. Actually I am only going to training but it is two days away from the office and you and I know that spells two days of vacation. The bad news is that this training is in Columbia SC. For the lucky ones who have never visited Columbia, you aren't missing much. Their motto is "Columbia.... We aren't that far from where you really want to be". And it's true. Only two hours to the east is Charleston. Two hours to the west are the Blue Ridge Mountains. Two hours north is Charlotte NC which has a nice theme park and two hours South is Augusta which has some great golf.

So what is in Columbia you ask. I guess you could be interested in the State Capitol. And yes there is a College but we aren't Gamecock's fans? And there are lots of businesses including our corporate office which is why we are going there. Other than that and a few resturants there isn't much. However if you are wanting to visit SC and don't know where else to go, it just might be for you. So come to Columbia, it's not that far from where you really want to be. :) Have a great week and I will check back nightly. Wish me luck on staying awake in class. Can you say boring? ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Have a great day,
Greg

I'm sure that if the training and Columbia bores you, you'll have plenty of side-splitting stories to share with your fans!
"Columbia.... We aren't that far from where you really want to be".

That's hilarious!
Pack you pliers...if you get too bored, you can take care of that issue from the last blog.

Try to have fun.
Heh, now!! I used to live in Columbia and my momma was born and raised there!! *sticking my tongue out at you!*
Columbia has a zoo that I loved going to as a kid. There is Phinley Park downtown. There is 5 Points to visit day or night for great entertainment. Great historical places to visit as Columbia is where the South came together to succeed as their own nation. Ya just gotta know where to go!
Oh, and there ain't nothing wrong with being a Gamecock fan!! I was born and raised to be one and still am!!! GO GAMECOCKS!!!!!!

USA-
I somewhat agree about columbia. It is the capital of where the south began, thats very important.
Gamecocks: Thats only exciting during the Clemson Carolina game ;)

The Blue Ridge Mountains is where I want to be! :)

I read a book called Big Stone Gap a while back and I'd love to see if the town folks are anything like those in the book.

No offense intended USA. I just reported on what I have heard and my own personal feelings. I am not a fan of bigger cities and I was totally lost there today.
HEy thanks for stopping by...I would totally be falling asleep with toothpicks in my eyes...but hey anytime away from the office is A+++
cheers

I guess they won't make you the Columbia spokesperson! You'll have to try and find some good things in Columbia and report back to us.
