Aliens are among us.

The girl over at "This just in" blog, was talking about her aquarium aliens and it made me think of my own aquarium aliens. Yes they really are aliens or at least I believe that is what they are.

I have this aquarium in my greenhouse which has mostly green slime in it at the moment but it also has aliens. I don't know where they came from or how they got in there so I can only assume they were planted by the mother ship on a recent trip to earth. It is a freshwater aquarium that we used to keep water plants in for the winter but we gave up on doing that. Usually our winters are warm enough that some of our water plants will make it through and if they don't, we can always get more at the pet store.

The aliens though are disguised as snails but they don't look like any fresh water snail I have ever seen. They are have long pointed shells similar to some saltwater snails I have seen. But here is why I think they are aliens. From time to time, they line up in parallel lines, facing up and I know what they are doing. They are facing the mother ship and getting ready to be picked up and taken back to the snail planet. Shortly after they do the lineup thing, they all disappear and I know they have gone back. Then without warning, they are re spawned and go through the same process.

Now that I think about it lots of snails go through this same process. Could it bet that all snails are aliens? Think about that then next time you order snails in your favorite restaurant. You just may be planting alien seeds in your belly. And if you saw the movie aliens, you know where that leads. As for me I am not taking any chances. Snails are now on my do not eat list.

Have a great day and Bon Appetit.

Greg

They ARE aliens, I have to agree. While all of my fish are keeling over, I suddenly have snails appearing—and I've never purchased a snail in my life!

They were beamed down. Obviously.

Oh no, snails will never taste the same again! I actually love to order snails in a French restaurant. Now I'm going to think about your post the next time I'm tempted to order them. You are funny Greg!

You will enjoy your visit to God's Country a/k/a Clemson University. It is a great university....having a little trouble with football this season, but academically, it is tops.

i agree that the fire sounds horribly uncomfortable...when He comes in the clouds, I pray I'm risen in the rapture and don't have to endure the destruction.

snails are one of my favorites(with butter, garlic and parsely) but you're gonna be in my mind the next time i eat them

i've never noticed their "lining up" before...not sure i've seen many snails together in the same place...my mom used to have an aquarium with fresh water fish and her nemesis was algae and fish poop...we had a "walking catfish" who i thought was always "creepy" and "alien-like"...he flipped out of the net one day while she was cleaning the tank...and yes, he walked across the floor on his fins...it was CREEPY
thanks for coming by...

I do not do slime, therefore I do not do snails, therefore I guess I do not do aliens?

I think I am delirious, or am I. I am so confused, you have warped my mind with the snails and aliens thing!

Very funny! What are your thoughts on squid? :-p

eek!

I only like snails in their shells painted in children's books.

Slugs out of their shells are the grossest thing to me.

Oh man Greg, I am cracking up!!! Aliens, indeed! Look out... you never know where they might line up! LOL! Hey that would make a creepy kind of short story, who knows, maybe even a feature movie, "Invasion of the Alien Snails!"
