Thankful Thursday
I started out this morning to write one of those ranting posts and to tell the truth I almost had it finished. However I took a break to read a few of your blogs and I settled down and decided to participate in Thankful Thursday. Thanks Kelly and Edie for reminding me to be thankful. Here are 5 things that I am thankful for.
1. I am thankful that I came to my senses and deleted that other post and instead went with this one. I hate when I sound negative because negativity is contagious.
2. I am thankful that my son Gregory passed his Black Belt test last night and now he has a Black Belt in Karate. I was impressed with his performance and I dare say that the guys that he was kicking were impressed as well even though they had on padding.
3. I am thankful that our Chicken, Lucy is still alive. She has lived through two hunting dog attacks (one recently) and one raccoon attack and is still with us. Last week she started laying eggs again after an 8 month dry spell.
4. I am thankful that I still have a job with so many people around me who are unemployed. I am also thankful for my family and the home we live in.
5. I am thankful that I live in a country that allows me to worship whomever I chose and I chose to worship God. And I am thankful that I can celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas.
I know I tossed in a few more than 5 but I am thankful for so many things. So what are you thankful for?

I too have found that 'ranting' posts are counter-productive. What ever is praiseworthy - think about these things! (Philippians 4:8) And generally it does make you feel better...not always.
Good for Lucy...maybe you need a chicken coop?
Amen!
And thank YOU again for the Christmas goodies. They are so fun. I'm sharing the pins with the girls (luckily there are two!) because they love 'em too. The reindeer is on the tree. :D
I am glad you decided to be thankful today, too.
I own chickens and can't believe all that your chicken has survived!! She is a miracle girl! LOL!
Black belt - WOW! That's a huge accomplishment.
Well, glad I stopped by today!
Merry Christmas,
Sonya
You must be so proud.
I am thankful today for so many things too...
Salvation,
Family
Church
Blogging friends
A content heart in a caotic world.
Love and Hugs Greg... you are one of my thankful blessings.

I have started a "Gratitude Journal". Every night before I go to bed I write down one, just one thing that I am thankful for about that day--could be big or could be small.
And then I make sure to thank God for this in my prayers.
A positive attitude can make a big difference, especially when you're used to looking at the negatives as I used to do!!

I am also thankful for my blogging friends who realign my mood when it needs it!!! :)
I am thankful for so many things...that although I'm out of a job, I still have enough $ to make it through the season. I'm thankful for my father's recovery, my family and friends, and more than anything for feeling reconnected to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...FINALLY!
I'm working on the positive outlook too. I got a bit caught up in the negative myself there for a bit.
Yay for your son! Getting a black belt is hard work and a lot of dicipline. I have known a few people with black belts including a little girl who was a friend of my daughters when she was in 5th grade, and a lady in my SS class who is about 4'8". She and her son took lessons together.
So glad that Lucy is still with you and back to business as usual. He has His eye on the sparrow (and the chicken). :)
Have a great weekend!
Wow. Amazing.
Have a very Happy and healthy Christmas.
