Public Restroom Etiquette

Is there such a thing? Who out there knows? I am thinking that some of you bloggers may know the answer to some of these questions. I have questions, you have answers. So let’s get started.

If you go into a public restroom and someone is in a stall (I will leave it at that) and also talking on their cell phone and you come in and finish what you came to do because that’s just how you are, you don’t linger in public restrooms, is it proper to flush while this person is talking on his cell phone? I mean if I were on the other end of that phone and I heard flushing I would be disgusted. I’m Just asking.<<<< (my version of I’m just saying)

If you are one of those people who feel the need to cover the entire bathroom stall with TP before you use it, what are you supposed to do with all that TP when you finish? Leaving it draped all over everything is the wrong answer because the next person to use the stall now has to deal with it. And did you really think that the germs would hold off until you covered everything? I’m just asking.

Should cell phones (the ones that take pictures) be banned from public restrooms? I mean I don’t want some perv. taking photos in there. If you saw someone in there with a digital camera out you would freak out so why not a cell phone? Smile you may be on candid camera or someone’s blog. Who knows.

Here is something that I am just dying to know. It is for those ladies that go into the gym locker room. Does your locker room have a TV in it and if so, is it on a sports channel? Why do they assume that because you go to a gym that you want to watch sports? When I get to the gym, if no one is in the locker room, I change the channel. Haha. I like to put it on something like the shopping network just to see if someone will change it back.

So is there such a thing as Public Restroom Etiquette? If so, tell me any rules you know about.
Enquiring minds want to know. That’s me,

Ok here is a little tip for any male readers that may have wandered in here by mistake. Haha. Let’s say that sometime you get to the gym and realize that you forgot your lock. What to do, what to do? I mean someone might open your locker and take your towel or something like that. Well all you have to do is make sure your underwear are the first thing that someone sees when they open your gym bag. That way if someone does open it and sees the underwear they will immediately stop. Ladies you may not know this but it is against the law to touch someone else’s underwear. You think I am joking? I bet I could drop a pair of underwear on the men room floor and they will still be where I dropped them a week from now. It’s true.

I hope you found this information helpful.
Have a nice day,
Greg

I don't go to the gym - ha but i'll chime in on the cellphone thing. I don't think i've ever observed (or heard) someone with a cellphone in the restroom but if I did, I would flush. If they are that stupid let THEM worry about what the person on the other end hears.
Personally I think it's disgusting to bring a phone into the loo!

As for flushing while someone else is on the phone...Yes!! FLUSH TWICE.

And the TP thing...Why do you think women have such strong thigh muscles?..think about it!

business and cellphones don't go together in the bathroom...i'm just sayin'

it's really nice to sit on a dry toilet seat; the germs are spreading as we speak but you should flush whatever you sat on...i'm just sayin'

my gym locker room had a tv in the sitting area but only the people on their cellphones were in there, so i never saw need for the tv...i'm about getting in and getting out when i'm in a locker room, the less time there the better

my restroom etiquette--wash-hands! wash-hands! WASH-HANDS! With soap AND water...don't want to share our germies!

Yes, definitely flush. Make it a royal flush. I cannot say that I have never spoken to someone from within a stall, because when I met Dave Barry, I did go into a stall and call my friends.

Flush away! I love that you change the channel in the locker room to shopping or something - that's fabulous. And what is it about underwear and socks in public places? I've seen both, and you're right, no one will go near them with a ten foot pole (I certainly wouldn't!)

funny post. You know I never use a public restroom if I can "hold" it until I get home. When I do use one, I just run in, run out and try not to think that i just used one..ha.

Well, I tend to be that person talking on the phone when I enter a restroom but try hard to cut my caller off when I do! So flush away everyone!

I need to clear up the law issue with the men in my house. They think it is against the law to pick up their own 'used' underwear after a shower. Thanks for cleaning that up. Oh...and flush away if the cell phone user has entered the flushing zone. B

As a general rule conversation is not prohibited as long as it is stall to stall and only with the closest of friends. But us girls tend to visit the facilities in groups anyway so we just continue our conversation as well as our bodily functions. However, Cellphones, no way they need to be hung up and put away, and if you're on the phone I'm flushing!

Blessings

If you're going to change the channel in the gym locker room - it's got to be changed to the Food Network . . . :)

It's never okay to NOT FLUSH!! If someone wants to conduct business on a cell phone in a public bathroom, well, that's their problem.

OMG Greg, I shutter to think what happened to you to make you have all these questions! LOL My answer is simple, don't use public restrooms, hold it until you get home even if your eye turn yellow! LOL ;-)

And there you have it...the reasons I hold it! Is it really worth all this? Waaayyyyy too complicated for me! LOL =P

Only you BFF!! You and your crazy posts!!

I say flush and flush often when someone is on the phone, and as for the gym, I say change the channel to some cooking show!! He he!

If someone is going to talk on the phone in the restroom then I would flush several times just for fun! :)

I don't go to the gym but I have wondered why *they* seem to think that everyone, everywhere wants to watch sports.

You always crack me up!

I don't really know why people think it is o.k. to talk on the phone while they are doing their business.. Who wants to hear that, all you can hope for is that they have that person on Mute and flush away.

I don't go to the gym anymore, but when I did I would always change it to General Hospital or some other soap:)

1.) I ditto Patticake the Monogram Queen on this one. I couldn't answer that any better.

2.) Definitely if you're going to line everything with TP, it is definitely up to you to dispose of it before you leave. It shouldn't become someone else's problem.

3.) I don't care if people bring in their cell phones but I just wonder why. Why do they feel the need? Disgusting!

4.) I belonged to a gym at one time but I don't remember there being a TV in the ladies locker room.

5.) I LOVE the underwear idea of being on top of your bag. Because that would deter many people from going further. TOO FUNNY!!!
