Rough start.

Bad storms ripped through our area and kept me awake most of the night. I could hear the rain pounding and the wind whistling. Our yard is already soaked so I am sure it is flooded this morning. There was a little lightening but the wind was the worst part. Our power dipped a couple of times which is what woke me up. My wife is just getting over a nasty cold too so I haven’t gotten a lot of sleep in the past few days. I think I have it (the cold) now but so far it isn’t as bad as hers was. Come on vitamins do you stuff.

The ride into work this morning was a little tricky. I had to drive really slowly because it was raining hard and there were limbs down everywhere. I even had to go off the road at one point to get around a limb. I haven’t seen that many limbs down since the last hurricane came through. There were still limbs falling which made the drive even more dangerous. I have this fear of having a limb drop on me while driving for some reason. I made it in though after stopping by the gym.

I hadn’t been to the gym (in the morning) in several weeks and I was surprised by how many people came up and asked me if anything was wrong. I can’t believe they actually missed me. I didn’t think they would even notice that I was gone but apparently they did. I have decided to change spinning nights to Thursday instead of Tuesday. I like both instructors equally well but I like the music better that Margaret plays. She is more my age and plays more music from my era. (oldies) I am also planning on trying the body pump class on Tuesday to see if I like that. I may change my workout altogether. Change is good....in workouts anyway. :)

Have a great week,
Greg

We've had those storms, too. They were gone by late night, but something woke me up too. I was wide awake at 2:15 and got up at 4:00.

Time for a nap.

Anywho, I'm glad you made it safely to work. :-) Have a great day!
Last night's weather was indeed something. Between the howling wind and rain hitting the windows, I woke up three or four times.
I've been out of contact for awhile and I'm just catching up! Glad to see your blog again! The wind kept us up last night as well. It's been a LONG time since I saw weather like that around here!

Oh boy--sounds like a bad storm! We don't deal with that kind of weather here but we have our own doozies!
I had to laugh when you said you didn't think they'd miss you! Heavens! With your sense of humor?

We are in for more rain tomorrow...I spend way to much money to live in CA for all this "bad" weather...ha ha. I usually like the rain, but CA is a cheap date when it comes to rain...it is a light weight.

Be careful out there!!

we had lots of rain here, too...and now the high winds are here, so lots of trees killed by the past drought are falling over...we lost one on the edge of our property and one on the entrance to the neighborhoold, luckily the latter didn't fall out into the street.
Maybe the next few days will be better.
Congrats on being diligent with your workouts...i've got to start back.

Sorry you had bad storms but am glad that you didn't suffer any damage!

You inspire me to begin working out... We play volleyball at church on Mondays, but I don't get to touch the ball much. Hmm... wonder if there is a reason for that!

Have a good day!

Wanted to drop in and see how you are doing! Sounds like you had quite a storm. We made it through our week of storms and have had sunshine for a few days, but the rain is coming back tomorrow.

Hope your cold gets better!
Glad you made it back and forth to work safely, Greg. I share your fear of falling limbs while driving. I thought I was the only one!

I know when we used to go to a gym we got so we knew who else attended even if we didn't speak. Everyone walks around with our headphones. But when someone was gone, my husband and I would notice.
Good you are back at it! I've been overwhelmed with some nasty family issues and need to get back on the treadmill.
PS I got another call. I go up today to find out.
That storm was something else. It woke me up at 3 a.m., between that one and the one we had last week my Orange trees are now naked, all the leaves are on the ground :(

Sorry about the storm, the wet, and the colds. All your talk of spinning and gym has exhausted me so much I may have to go and lie down...
You are right to fear a limb falling on you when driving, is dangerous. I very narrowly avoided such an accident many years ago (one of God's many miracles) but I've never forgotten the experience.

Was lookiing at photos of the snowstorm of '77 earlier today. Probably y'all didn't get that one. Hope everything dries out okay.
