The beatings will continue.......

The beatings will continue until the attitude improves around this place!!!

Apparently it isn't acceptable for some people to enjoy going to work anymore. Apparently you are supposed to come to work, hate it, do your mundane job and then return home in a foul mood. The only people who are allowed to enjoy themselves at work are upper management. You have to be in the "do as I say not as I do" group to have a good time anymore.

Yesterday we got the memo from corporate; No more blogger, facebook twitter or any other social networking at work. That includes your own time like during breaks, lunch, before and after working hours or any other time that is your own. Apparently someone was caught smiling at work and management just can't have it get out that someone may be happy at work.

On a totally unrelated note, all upper management were given blackberries recently so they can keep track of business issues. Of course none of them will be used for personal use like contacting family or friends during meetings. That just won't happen because we all know that upper management is much more responsible than us bottom feeders. :)

So if you notice that I don't blog as much any more, it just means that my computer time has been cut short. I am still here and will be blogging when I can. I also had to turn off all notifications so I won't know when you comment until I log on to blogger. Of course if you want to contact me for something important, you can always email me. They haven't turned that off....YET.

Did you know that people who occasionally tweet or FB or Blog at work are 20% more productive? They say it breaks the monotony and allows people who do repetitive tasks to work more quickly. So I guess you can expect my production and attitude to suffer as well. But at least I won't be happy and that is what is important.

Have a great day, just don't let anyone know. :)

Greg

If the work gets done why do they care?? My staff all have their cell phones with them so they can text at a moments notice. So long as they patients aren't affected, who cares?

Hoo boy! Dullards of the world unite- how about becoming a zombie? Or you know that terracotta army they have in China where they are all in rows, starting straight ahead? Maybe that's how you should be?

Have a boring, dull, unproductive, unimaginative, bland, ummmm can't think of any more...day....oh annonymous, have an annonymous day!

Sucks but hey I think they must be a branch of Chase or something. Check out my blog for what a lovely week i've had. Will be back at work tomorrow.
I am so sad! I say do it anyway! But if you do, and get fired, I can't pay your bills. On second thought, you better not. It's dumb. I enjoy hearing from you during the day. Oh well, hopefully they will not keep this in effect for to long!

Hang in there BFF. Try to smile in that dark, dismal cubby hole they placed you in. Try hard to smile, that is, when they are not looking! :o)
Ya know the old sayin' - "Misery loves company!"

Shame on them!

Wow!! That really sucks a lemon! My husband is a shift worker. They've done studies and realized that it's better to give them an alarm clock and let them catch a few winks in between their "pushes." They end up with happier, more productive workers...and there are less safety issues as a result. I'm pretty sure your "top feeders" missed that memo.

...that includes breaks, lunch, before and after work...

that is just ridiculous!

When will people realize that happy workers are much more productive and also much more company oriented.

sigh

Greg,

I do understand the restrictions from using company computers for personal business like email and outside sites that can introduce them to virus attacks that would shut down company operations.

We had a computer lab installed in our corporate office of about 3 computers that we can use during our breaks and lunches, or before and after work. It really does benefit the company to have a happy worker!

I like what Heckety said. I am happy for you that you have a job right now, even if they've sucked all the fun out of it. Just blog after dinner or get up at 3:00 am and blog before you spin. (I cannot imagine doing that) I know you already get up in the middle of the night to work off the steam that will build up during your workday. Sorry for your loss of blog time, though. I really am.

You always have retirement to look forward to and no one is ever harmed then in the making of a smile:)
That's not fair... I hope you have a good day anyway and smile just because you can and it makes management uncomfortable because they don't know what your smiling about ;)

I was wondering why I haven't been seeing you around the blogosphere lately. We could all form a protest in front of your place of business if you want. :)

Usually stuff like that happens cause someone abused the privilege. Find that person and make 'em pay! LOL. jk
