Thankful Thursday

It's hard to believe that it is Thursday again. Actually if the truth were known it is only Wednesday night but I am getting this post ready and I am going to post it early. I have so much to be thankful for and I want to get it all down on paper while it is fresh in my mind.

My day started out and ended a little scary. This morning, right after I pulled out of my driveway, a huge buck froze in my headlights. I thought oh no, not again. But to my amazement he just walked slowly across the road and went into a neighbors yard. If any hunters are reading this, it was a 10 point buck and it had a great rack. Eat your heart out hunters.

I am thankful that I didn't literally have another run in with a deer. I have been seeing them every morning for several weeks now and so far so good. It's going to be a long year.

I am thankful for another great body pump class this week. I didn't hurt myself this time and I am planning on doing a spin class tomorrow. Look at me getting in shape. Whooo Hoooo.

I am thankful for a good dentist appointment that I had today. I had x-rays and a cleaning done and I only had two cavities. That's pretty good for me because I knew I had one for a long time and the other one was a surface cavity and will be easy to fix. She said my gums were in great shape and the cleaning went really fast because I have been brushing and flossing very well.

I am thankful that God protected me on my way to the dentist. I was running late and only about a block away from the dentist. A light ahead turned yellow and I had to quickly decide if I was going to stop and be late for my appointment or run the light and be on time. I chose to stop. A young women two lanes over decided to go for it.

A truck was approaching the intersection from the side road and the guy saw that his light was about to change so he kept going and sped through the intersection just as the light turned green. And you guessed it. Right there in front of me Bam!!! The two vehicles then slid over and hit another car that was crossing the intersection from the other direction. It was an older woman and she may have been seriously injured if she had been a second sooner. I saw glass and car parts in the air in front of me.

I jumped out and offered to help but everyone seemed ok. The car that ran the light had a baby and a dog inside. When the woman opened her door to get out, the dog ran away and was lost. The woman then began crying about the dog but no one was seriously injured. I ended up being late to my appointment but the person before me was running late too so it all worked out in the end. Everyone was ok by the way but the dog was still lost.

I am also thankful that I have tomorrow off. I have a parent/teacher meeting but the rest of the day I am planning on relaxing.

Have a great day,
Greg

Whew! I'm glad you're fine! You think you know that life can change in an instant but then something like that accident happens and you are reminded again. Glad all was well, guess its easier to cry over a dog than think what might have been...

Greg,

SO glad that God has His angels out in full force for you today and provided an opportunity for you to help out instead of being part of the accident.

I'm so glad you chose to stop and glad that everyone was ok too. I'm praying they find their dog though. That makes me sad.
