Thankful Thursday, Are you protected?

I have done some pretty stupid things over the course of my lifetime. By all rights I shouldn't be here typing this but for some reason God has protected me. Some of the things I have done should have killed me but I am still here so I must be doing something right.

Like the time we tried to see how close we could get to the back of a semi-truck while it sped down the highway. Oh and we were on a motorcycle. I think it was 10 feet and we were going 90 mph. Not too smart I know.

Then there was the time I went cliff diving. I dove off of a 100 ft cliff into a river that I knew nothing about. I almost got knocked out not to mention almost ripping both arms from my socket. Obviously it is harder than it looks. So is the water when you dive from that high.

And there was the time we went into a restricted area while in Italy. We stumbled upon some guys loading automatic weapons into their car. We had to hurry to get out of there before they noticed us.

Just yesterday on my way home, I got stopped by a train. As luck would have it, I was in a hurry so they stopped the train before it totally cleared the road so the gates stayed down. We sat there and sat there for over 30 minutes. Finally some people began slipping through the gates and crossing behind the train. Finally I had enough too and I decided to go for it. About half way up the line, a lady pulled out in front of me to do the same thing. She was going a bit slower though so she held me up. Just as we got near the front of the line to make the cross we saw blue lights coming from a side road. We quickly found an open spot to pull back into the waiting line. Another lady decided to go for it though and was given a hefty ticket for crossing the tracks. Had that car not pulled in front of me, I would have gotten that ticket. Whew that was a close one.

So I am thankful for all the things that God does to protect me even when I do something stupid.

I am thankful for the cooler weather we had last week, I needed a break from that heat wave and it came just in time.

I am thankful for my family who worked hard this past week trying to get the house looking for for an appraiser visit. He comes today. Pray for us. We need a good appraisal.

I am thankful for the strength that God gives me to continue when most people would simply give up. Don't think I haven't considered it but in the end I push on.

I am thankful for all the little things that make my day. Sometimes all I need is a little ray of sunshine through the clouds to keep me goign.

So what are you thankful for today? I am sure you can come up with something.

Have a great day,
Greg

I'm thankful I'm healthy today and that it isn't as hot here as it is back home in PA and I have air! I'm thankful my electric bill went down $60 this month even if it meant some hot nights:)))

This post cracked me up! What WERE you thinking? Hopefully you did all these things when you were a teenager or in your early 20's! Have a great week!

Greg,

I think we all have done some foolish things in our life. Thankfully God was looking out for us the whole time.

Here's praying for a very nice appraisal today. I am expecting it and thanking God for it already. Let us know how it goes.

I have a mental image that comes from his scripture.

PS 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

That shield of protection that never leaves us is such a comfort.

Blessings

I'm thankful we are all protected, through God's grace! There are times I've pulled some stunts behind the road- and I'm glad nothing came of it- only me admonishing myself for making such a reckless mistake!
