Thankful Thursday, Rain and more Rain


I woke up this morning to the sound of rain on the roof. So that occupied my mind until I realized that it is Thursday and time for Thankful Thursday. This week has been hectic for me but I still have time to stop and be thankful.

I am thankful for this rain although I do believe we have had enough for now. The yard is soaked. On the other hand we just put in some winter plants so they are getting watered very well.

I am thankful for the strength that God has given me to get over some recent hurdles. I am still in mid-air but I believe that I will make it over them all.

I am thankful that God kept me safe yesterday on my drive home. I had 5 close calls in traffic but I made it home safely. All the close calls were due to cell phone use in heavy traffic. People put away those cell phones when you are driving.

I am thankful that my house is dry and warm. I can hear the wind howling outside but all is well in here.

I am so thankful for the ability to keep calm with all the chaos in my life right now. If there is one thing I have improved on in the last year it is this ability.

So even if you life is in chaos like mine, take the time to stop and say thanks. Things could be a lot worse.

Our rain has turned to Sunshine for which I am Thankful.

I'm thankful for a new coffee pot, and a just baked Peanut Buttter Cookie!

I'm thankful my dearest loves me deeply and dearly.

I'm thankful that you do this weekly to remind me of my own lists.

I'm thankful that the Dollar Store has so many neat things "cheap".

I enjoyed reading this. I took your "thankful Thursday" button and added it to my blog. I intend to join in...sometimes I get so caught up in myself that I really do need to step back and be thankful.

My plans have changed.

Well I had plans on working all weekend but those plans were changed for me on Friday afternoon. About 5 minutes before I left work on Friday, my boss called me to tell me that they wouldn’t be needing my services all weekend. It seems that my schedule was so good that it could stand on its’ own. So there went 20 hours of overtime that I had planned on. And all those plans that my family made around my overtime were also changed. When I got home on Friday, I found out that the riding mower had quit working. How bad could it be I thought. 10, 20, 30 dollars to fix? Well we are talking $300.00 just for the parts. But at least I have the ability to do it myself. I am sure it would be around $500.00 to take it in somewhere. And the sad part is I could buy a new one for about $900.00. But wait, I just found someone selling the part I need on Craigslist for $40.00. Keep your fingers crossed for me please. Saturday, I went to the market since I wasn’t working at my regular job (as planned).
