Thankful Thursday, the golden years

As I struggled to get out of bed this morning, I got to thinking about why they call these the golden years. I mean I don't have a lot of gold. Maybe it is for the wealthy. Maybe it has something to do with bladder control or should I say the lack of bladder control. I just don't know anymore and to tell the truth I really don't care to have any gold. You can't take it with you so why have it. I am starting to think that way about everything. I think it is time to downsize in many ways.

So today I am just thankful for the little things in life:

Getting up each morning even when it hurts.

The kids even when they drive me crazy.

My wife even when she drives me crazy. (just kidding dear)

My job even when I dread going in sometimes.

My car even though it kills me to put gas in it at these prices.

And I am thankful that this thing called life is only temporary.

Have a great day,
Greg

Sounds like your week is about like mine - finding thanks in the rubble. The big difference is that I could really use a little bit of gold - not a lot because that would be overwhelming, but enough to get us out of debt would be great :)

Yes, you sound like me. Trying to be grateful in the little things. It isn't always easy but it's the best way to keep on. Hope this next week is the best ever for you!!

A blogger friend sent me a book called "1000 Gifts" and it celebrating the "little" things. You are already on a good start for your "1000".

I relate so much to what you say...Yes time to downsize.
