Wednesday Tidbits

With Christmas just around the corner, I just like a lot of you am finding it hard to make time to Blog. Even though my world revolves around blogging, I am struggling to come up with a decent post so let me just give you a run down of what is going on in my life.

1. I found Luke. It was right where I remembered it, right after Mark. I find Luke much more readable than Matthiew or Mark for some reason. Even though the stories are approximately the same, they are told a little differently and it is easier to follow. Or maybe I am just a little dense and it took three times to sink in. :)

2. I am busy as a beaver trying to get ready for Christmas. I have most of the presents and I am trying very hard to get the gifts I promised ready to send. I always have trouble finding boxes to send presents in. Does anyone else have this problem?

3. Mr T is very sick. Most of you know that Mr T is our cat. The other day my wife found him almost dead at our door step. She rushed him to the hospital and they were able to save him although he is still really sick. It appears that he was attacked by a dog and has some minor internal injuries. So he is inside, recovering and hopefully we will be able to let him out in a few days. The Vet obviously doesn't have that Christmas spirit though as evidenced by the Vet bill. Oh and if the owner of said dog happens to be reading this, be aware. That was my son's cat and he is wanting to even things up. We are not dog lovers and this isn't helping.

4. Update on the sign issue. After last nights town meeting, the town folk agreed to support the proposed zoning changes at the winery. They however still don't want any signs telling people it is out there. So for now they have put away their torches, and pitchforks. There will be other causes soon I am sure so don't take that tar and feathers back to the store yet.

5. Who let the heat out, who who who? If this is global warming, I am the tooth fairy. This has been the coldest November/December in Charleston history. At least for as long as I have been here. I have gone through more wood already than I usually do all year. Consequently, we have had to again gather wood so that we will have enough. I am accepting donations of seasoned oak if anyone here has any that they want to GIVE away. Split would be nice too. :) Oh and could you stack it too. I figure as long as I am asking, I may as well go all the way.

Well I better get cracking on some work. Hope everyone else is having a good holiday too. I mean it could always be worse and I still have a lot to be thankful for.

Have a great day,
Greg

We are having a two day heat wave but it's going to get cold again.

You are right, the blogging does slow down at the holidays but I think it's usually because people are so busy. I vow to at least throw a daily post even whil i'm on vacay at end of month!

Get Well Sweet Kitty!!!!
Hi Greg,

I agree with you on the global warming hoax! We just had to buy a load of wood too!!

Hey, if you're looking for something fun to post, stop by my blog for a Christmas game of tag. :)

I'm so glad Luke didn't move. That would really throw me off.

The box problem. I used to sell mosaic supplies on ebay and still have quite a number of Priority Mail boxes left so it's generally not a problem for me. But of course, then I have to send it priority mail. Not asking you to do that!!! :)

I'm so, so sorry for Mr T. Glad the vet was able to save him. My Tobi was in the house the whole time, I promise! I said a prayer for your cat too. Our pets are precious to their owners.

I don't have any pre-split, pre-stacked seasoned oak today but you are more than welcome to chop down the two trees in my front yard and light your fires with them!

Thanks for wishing Emily a happy birthday. She is my grandaughter so I had nothing to do with the timing. Her sister's birthday is next week so we did get a little closer. Ugh!

Poor Mr. T! Get well soon!

And I agree with you about the global warming... I think it's all a load of bunk.

I'm sorry about Mr T but don't blame all dogs! I have 2 Boston Terriers who are the cat's meow. (pun intended). "Buddy" had his annual checkup/shots this month and our vet didn't have the Christmas spirit either - $250!

It was in the upper 20's one early morning this week in VA. Today it is in the upper 60's. I'm either freezing or sweating...I think I know how women feel when they go through the change. LOL!! Sorry - maybe not the best joke on your blog. But your readership is mostly ladies anyway - so they are LOLing.
I have an English Mastiff and I live in Florida where it is currently 80 degrees. I'm not sure you'd like me too much right now. :)

Hmmm I have a 130 black lab, not sure you would like me either right now.
Get well kitty!! Poor thing! I am so sorry.
Also a Floridian and today it's hot outside, but tomorrow its going to be down right ugly!
Have a great day :)
I guess are warmth here is to balance out your cold. Hope the cat is feeling all healthy soon.

I have wood I'd be happy to share but since I can't figure out how to email it or fax it to you I guess that isn't much help. I could post a photo you could copy, print and burn...
Mr. T is sooo cute! I am such the cat fan, poor kitty!!

As for global warming.....what so scientist know!

Glad you found Luke, I am needing to pay a visit to him also!

I feel bad about your kitty but honestly, I've noticed that most dogs start out curious and friendly toward cats, who are inevitably terrified and try to scratch their eyes out which upsets the dog and may make him get a hate on for cats thereafter.

I never believed in global warming although it's been a secret dream of mine forever. I hate winter here.

Funny how you mentioned Luke. I want to start reading the New Testament again and I didn't know where to start. I think I'll go with Luke.

I'm spending the day Christmas shopping tomorrow and hopefully I'll get some Christmas cards out as well. I love this time of the year, but the time flies!

I'm sorry to hear about Mr. T. Hope he recovers quickly. Maybe you should send him to my place so he can lounge out in the sun. It's in the 80s today! :(

Sorry about Mr T. Hope he is doing better.

Was going to give you a weather update but Chatty Kelly beat me to it.

I know what you mean about time to blog...busy....busy....busy.

I'd love to 'donate' some wood to you... but all the work rests on your shoulders my friend. Mr. T is so handsome! I hope he heals quickly. I love kittys and could spend all day laying on the couch with a purring feline somewhere on my person.

For boxes... I would call the local grocery store and ask for someone from the GM (general merchandise) department. Ask them to save you a days worth of boxes. Shampoo, soap, and boxes which held the like are perfect size for shipping.

It is sixty-one degrees here right now. And rainy. Darned Georgia weather! I long for seasons. LOL

Oh, and I'm so sorry about your cat. We have four (I did not intend for that to happen, but it did.) and I do worry about a dog getting hold of them sometimes, because they do go outside. Thankfully, our dog is terrified of them. :o)
I'm pulling for Mr. T and I'm with you, where is Al Gore hiding these days? I just got off the phone with my niece in New Orleans and there's 5 inches of the white stuff on the ground. We have snow and ice heading our way.

Isn't the thing about global warming that it's actually about extremes in weather, not just warming? That's what I thought anyway. And, I just saw an article about how the winters have definitely been getting warmer up here in the Northeast (it was in the 60s here yesterday). And, our summers are getting more like Florida's. Maybe the earth is getting ready to flip upside down. LOL.

I hope Mr. T is all better very soon!

It's cold here to, but it's Nebraska! I haven't started Christmas shopping yet. I plan on going into Omaha on Sat. and get as much as I can get done. This happens every year.
I am reading Luke right now!
Ok, well, I guess I can't complain about being cold in our high 50's. And I do believe that most of the bunk about global warming comes from California (my lovely state of cuckoos).

Keep your family warm Greg!

wow, hope your cake recovers soon! We had the same thing happen years ago, found our cat at the front door near death, someone had run over him...but he survived!!! Cats are strong!

It turned so cold here in Dallas, I had to go through my 78 year old aunt's closet for something to wear because I didn't have time to come prepared!! ya, it's not pretty!

Stoppping by for a quick catch up... So sorry to hear about Mr T. I also heard on the weather channel that it has been cold back there. What a great idea, a gift of wood from somebody, split and stacked, ..yes that is what I wish for you this holiday season. I'll have to come back for more catch up later....

take care ...
