Thankful Thursday (It’s the simple things)

It's Thursday and you know what that means. Time again for Thankful Thursday. Please join us over at Truth for the Journey and lets all be thankful for the little things in life.

1. I want to say again that I am so thankful for my family. Last night we all pitched in and raked under the magnolia tree. Now raking under a tree sounds kind of simple but this magnolia is the largest one I have ever seen and it takes hours just to rake under this one tree. (new photos to follow soon)

2. I am thankful that I have a full tank of gas and that my little car still gets over 40 mpg and that is without a government mandate. I highly recommend the Honda Civic. No one has to tell me to conserve. I just do it.

3. I am thankful that my job is going well even though I am totally overloaded. One thing for certain, it makes the work day go by really fast.

4. I am thankful that I am cutting back on my coffee and am not down to only two cups a day which shouldn’t be confused with Linda’s 2nd cup of coffee blog. She is the one leading the charge on the 30 X 5 challenge by the way in case you haven’t been working with us.

5. I am thankful that I live in a country that has lots of water. This morning I brushed my teeth with clean water, shaved with hot water, got cool water at the gym from one of two water fountains and then took a nice hot shower after I worked out. I am trying to get in the 80 oz of water a day for my 30 X 5 challenge and all my water is free and there for the taking. I can also get super filtered water from Mr. Zippy’s water service for a mere 50 cents per gallon. In many places in this world people are drinking muddy water if they have any water to drink at all.

There you have it, my Thankful List for this Thursday.

Have a wonderful day,
Greg

It's the simple things for sure! I was a big water drinker before Linda's challenge, so I'm keeping it up.

Have a great day!!
Great list, Greg. One of my personal favorite causes to give to is clean drinking water. It breaks my heart to think of mothers handing small children cups of muddy water when I remember all of those years of filling my kids'sippy cups with healthy stuff. Thanks for the shout-out, and keep up the good work. Any suggestions for Phase 4?

What a great blog you have! This is my first visit. I had to check you out after you visited Heart Choices and left your comment. I always enjoy meeting other bloggers. I love that you have a thankful heart. You don't take things for granted. These days not everyone has a full tank of gas. I'll be back, Greg.
Good list! I'm thankful that we're still getting by since I was laid-off. Also, thankful that prayers work.

I'm thankful we have easy access to clean water too, also. We take for granted so many things.

I scrolled down a bit and I loved seeing all the photos of those flowers. So pretty!

Enjoy the upcoming holiday weekend.

Great list Greg. Isn't it wonderful to have so much to be thankful for? We actually get to pick from a trillion things. I love the fact you pointed out that not everyone is as blessed as we are. Even more reason to be thankful and to remember those that aren't so lucky. Have a wonderful Thursday my friend!

great list. I am also thankful for water and am more conscience of it since doing Linda's challenge. Since drinking so much, I am very thankful it is clean and tastes good.

Great list, Greg. Thank you for pointing out that the simple things we often take for granted are truly reasons to be thankful in HIM.

Blessings

(P.S. #15 Mary actually links to my blog LOL:-)

Loved your thankfulness for water. Water is something I no longer take for granted after our year in Uganda. We collected rain water in a large cistern AND hauled drinking water from a borehole well. Even though it's been seven years since we were in Africa, I'm still careful about water usage. Although I no longer take jungle showers :-)
