Thankful Thursday, trying to stay positive

Wow where do I begin. Thursday just kind of snuck up on me. And I do want to participate in Thankful Thursday.

1. I am thankful for having a job however I just spend three days in class listening to everyone complain about their job. Obviously others where I work don’t share my enthusiasm for having a great paying job. Obviously $24.00 an hour isn’t enough to sit in an air conditioned classroom eating free snacks and sodas and listening to someone tell you how something works. But I am thankful.

2. I am thankful that while I was in class these past few days someone made some changes to the schedule I have been working on for the past 8 months. Unfortunately, they didn’t know what they were doing and they ruined my schedule, causing me to do major rework. And the outage that I wrote the schedule for….It starts tomorrow. No biggie, I have a backup. And I am thankful.

3. I am thankful for the opportunity to make lots of money. I will be working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week for the next two weeks. It will allow me to pay all my taxes so the government can spend it on really important things. At least I have a job. Keep telling me that.

4. I am thankful for a comfortable chair. My back is killing me because I pushed myself really hard last night at spin class in an effort to reduce some stress. I had to skip the gym this morning to try and recover. Repeat after me;“Pain builds character, pain builds character, pain builds character.”

5. I am thankful for a very thoughtful blogger award that I got from Kat over at Heart2Heart. At the moment I don’t have the time to pass it along (see #2 above) so I will give it to everyone who visits me on a regular basis. Thanks Kat.

Have a great day,
Greg

Greg,

You are a class act. You truly know where the blessings are! You are one amazing man and you are right. Just to have a roof over my head, food I can eat for today and a place to lay my head is enough for me. Anything above and beyond that is blessings beyond measure.

Congratulations for accepting your award! You are more than a friend but part of Steve and I's family now. Just keep on smiling!

Love and Hugs ~ Kat
Great list as always!
Keep repeating to yourself, this too shall pass!!

Yeah. Keep telling yourself that the government is spending your money on real important things. And lets all hope that repetition works.

I'm thankful that God is in control even when I can't see what He's doing. That is torture for an inquisitive person like myself. :)

Have a great weekend!

Greg - great list today as always!

People do take their jobs and paychecks for granted and now that I am not working (praise HIM!) I realize that I was guilty of that sometimes.

Have a great and blessed weekend.

Pain builds character, pain builds character...you are so right!

I've been sick with flu-like symptoms and a backache so I know how you feel. Hope you're all better soon!

You have a GREAT paying job, and btw, you are deserving of the thoughtful blogger award...you're one of the sweetest guys I know!
Greg,

Such a difficult work environment you are in. Be sure to take little moments for yourself throughout your day. Little Coffee Breaks (No coffee required). Perhaps you could just walk outside and let the sun warm your face for 5 minutes. it will rejuvenate you and give you the energy to stay positive.

Hoping you have a peaceful weekend,
Sonya
Great list....I always enjoy my stops at your blog.
You have a great positive attitude. I really admire that.

Good luck working those crazy hours and recovering from the character building pain!

I hope your back is feeling better. When your back hurts, it affects EVERYTHING you do!

Hey, could I get $24. an hour to sit in a classroom and eat free snacks? I'll even bring my own drink!

Pain builds character.
Pain builds character.
Pain builds character......
All jobs have their challenges but you're wise in being glad to have a job. They can disappear in a moment as I've found out. Either way though, God provides.
Hope you get some rest and your back quits hurting before your long 2 weeks.
Better late then never I always say! Great Thankful Thursday, I did not get a chance to to post last Thursday, but I will definitely post this Thursday.

Take Care Greg

and...as always,

Keep the Faith!
